Reflection
Returning to an art class after two years showed immediate improvement in skill, even though I have been artistically inactive for most of that time. Sophomore year I was only comfortable sketching ovals to form a bare model of a hand, This year I dived right in and drew an almost perfect realistic hand, it might be the one piece I'm most proud of this year. Aside from that, I felt more confident in my ability to complete the assignments we were given in class. I wasn't focusing on the talents of others in comparison to my own as much as I did in the past, I was only concerned with my own work and enjoying the process. I still procrastinated a lot which hindered my time management to finish big projects, but lack of focused imagination and poor work ethic are things I've struggled with for my entire life so I am slowly overcoming those obstacles. All things considered, I had fun in class with both my peers and the valuable lessons I learned to improve my realism on paper.
